Pro/E Render to get a Chrome finish:

What numbers do I have to plug in to get a chrome finish ?
Answer:

Basic Color Settings:
Color: White
Color Diffuse: 0
Color Ambient: 10
Highlight Color: White
Highlight Shininess: 0
Highlight Intensity: 30
Advanced Setting:
Reflection: 55

Render in PhotoRender with a room, otherwise it has nothing to reflect and will not show chrome color. Also check in PhotoRender config, Reflect.

Defining and Applying a Metallic Appearance on a Part

This suggested technique looks at the creation of an appearance that produces a metallic display when photorendering. It should be noted that even though the look of this appearance when shaded will appear to be very dark, it is needed to produce the metallic finish without the use of textures

Procedure:

Defining the Appearance.
The first step is to create a new appearance, this is done by using the following menu selection: View, Advanced, PhotoRender. Select the Modify appearances icon. The Appearances dialog box will appear. Select the Add button, which will bring the Appearance Editor up. It is from this dialog box that the definition of the metallic appearance will be created. The following settings are just suggestions to get started in the right direction, and were used to render the chrome wheel hub shown below:

Basic Setting:
Color: (RGB)255.00, 255.00, 255.00
Color Diffuse: 0
Color Ambient: 10
Highlight Color: (RGB)255.00, 255.00, 255.00
Highlight Shininess: 0
Highlight Intensity: 30
Advanced Setting: Reflection: 55

The final step in this technique is to render the part. Please note that when rendering a part without a room defined a metallic looking finish will not appear because there will be nothing to reflect in the surface of the part. Therefore, define a room and render the model.
