Override Dimensions

You can override true part dimensions:

The @O command will override only "created" dims

The @S command combined with a rename of the dimension symbol will effectively override the value...

Quote from the PTC Web-site:

How can dimensional values be replaced with text?

The methods for replacing dimensional values with text are dependent on the type of dimension being modified. For "shown" dimensions (those which display a dimension symbol of "d#" when an Info, Switch Dim is performed), the first step is to select Modify, Dimension, choose the desired dimension for modification, and Done Sel. The Modify Dimension dialog box will appear with a tab for "Dim Text". After selecting this, change the field for "Dimension Text" from "@D" to "@S". (The "D" denotes that the text line will display the dimension value, while the "S" means the text line will display the dimension symbol). Next, change the dimension symbol in the "Name" field to be the text desired to display on the drawing. Note that no spaces or special characters are allowed as symbols.

For "created" dimensions (those which display a dimension symbol of "ad#", "add#", or "dd#" when an Info, Switch Dim is performed), the above method can be used, except that the "@D" can also be changed to "@O", followed by the desired text for displaying on the drawing. (The "O" stands for "overwrite" and is not allowed for "shown" dimensions).

Note: The dimension text line can also be modified from "@D" to "@S" or "@O" by performing a Modify, Text, Text Line or Full Note. "

The change will work as shown
